Earthquake physics & Ground motion
Elif Oral is a postdoctoral researcher in the Mechanical and Civil Engineering Department of California Institute of Technology, in the team of Prof. Domniki Asimaki. Her research targets to better understand how and why earthquakes happen, and predict the impact of seismic phenomena on the environment. Her work joins computational and observational seismology to model the dynamics of earthquake source, seismic wave propagation and site effects in complex media.
